LinkedIn Algorithm Guide for Professionals
LinkedIn is judging you.
Every post you publish, every comment you leave, and every topic you engage with, trains 360Brew, LinkedIn’s built-in LLM that determines who sees you or whether you get pushed to the bottom of the feed.
And it’s looking for clarity and humanity.
1️⃣ 360Brew is a stalker.
It reads your profile, your writing patterns, your comments, and the people who interact with you. If your story is incoherent, with your profile saying one thing, posts saying another, it is unhappy with you. But once everything lines up, it becomes much easier for LinkedIn to understand what you’re about and match you with the right people.
2️⃣ LinkedIn has become a teaching platform.
The formats that do super well, have one thing in common: they help someone understand something faster.
- Infographics: 3× the reach
- Carousels: 4× the reach, because dwell time is very important to Brew
- Story + lesson is IN, generic motivation is OUT
3️⃣ Images matter.
If you're convinced your post is good, but it didn't perform, try it again later with a better visual. It makes a huge difference. And make sure the photo is portrait.
4️⃣ Long-form works again, if you sound like a real person and not like a bot.
People scroll straight past staccato, AI posts.
But when a post is conversational, specific, and broken into 10–14 readable paragraphs, people like it more than they used it. Plus, dwell, baby, dwell.
But: very short, and funny posts can also work!
5️⃣ Early engagement (the golden hour) still matters a lot, but the old hacks don’t work anymore.
If the same five people pop up in the first few minutes every time, the model clocks it as a loop and pushes your post down. So stop sending your posts out via your WhatsApp groups, and instead focus on creating content that brings in different types of people.
6️⃣ Don’t fish for engagement, and don't end your posts with a questions or with “Thoughts?”. It's so blah.
Instead finish with a statement or a challenge people feel moved to respond to.
From my side, I focus on three things and I repeat them often.
1. Your unique DNA.
2. Your human visibility.
3. And the way AI systems read and classify you.
When all three align, LinkedIn stops being a numbers game and starts working the way you always hoped it would: interesting projects arrive, people find you, and people come to you with an understanding of what you do.
The carousel breaks down the moving parts. Download it and share it with your AI so you can ask it to optimize your posts with it.
